TEEN PARENTS IS....

Teen Parents is a relational ministry of Youth for Christ/USA that reaches out to pregnant and parenting teenagers and their children. Our mission is to support, encourage, and equip them with the life, relationship and parenting skills they need. Our goal is to see these young families become emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually healthy. Our purpose is to see them become successful, responsible adults and life-long followers of Jesus Christ. Teen Parents of Lubbock seeks to involve resources of the community to help young parents build balanced lives.

WHY IS TEEN PARENTS IMPORTANT?

Approximately 1 million teenagers get pregnant in the United States each year. Teen pregnancy knows no socio-economic, cultural, racial or geographic boundaries. The Teen Parents ministry provides strategic tools that are effective in reaching this unique population of teens who are often experiencing the challenges of addictions, domestic violence, divorce, peer pressure, and lack of self-respect…and… they are raising children!

As 2010 comes to an end, I want to thank you all for your prayers, donations, encouragement and support for the Teen Parents ministry in Lubbock! This year we have built relationships with more than 50 young parents and their children, providing physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual support to the families who walk through our doors.

As one of our young moms recently said, "(Teen Parents of Lubbock) has motivated me to do better for me and my kids!"

Thank you for helping make this ministry possible! I've included a few pictures below from our Christmas Party sponsored by Second Baptist Church as well as a link to a newspaper article written about the event. It was a night to remember and our TPOL families were so blessed by the generosity and love shared by the members of this church!
